“Realidad casi nube” premiered in Torroella

The group DAI Contemporain and the soprano Youmi Kim premiered the song cycle “Realidad casi nube” in two in concerts held on July 27 and 28, 2017 at the Fringe Festival in Torroella de Montgrí, Girona.

The composition for voice and instrumental group is a commission by the Youth Institute (INJUVE) and it is based on a selection of texts by the Spanish poet Ángel González, Prince of Asturias Award for Literature in 1985 and central exponent of the “Generation of 50”.

The score was presented in the Gothic courtyard of the Palau Solterra conducted by the composer himself and as part of a programme that also featured pieces by Bach, Blacher, Berio, Mignone and Rameau.

The Ensemble DAI Contemporain is made up of some of the finest graduates of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and featured on this occasion Raquel Paños and Melinda Aurh (saxophones), Lomic Lamouroux (bassoon), Apolline Kirklar and Youkyung Kim (violins), with the South Korean Youmi Kim as solo soprano.
